The DFW South Asian Film Festival doesn’t return until March 3-5 at the AMC Village on the Parkway in Addison but those on the western side of the Metroplex get a bit of a sneak peek on Feb. 1. That’s when the festival is sponsoring a screening of the comedy Growing Up Smith at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.
This marks the first time that the festival has held an event in Tarrant County.

Hilarie Burton, who is guest starring in tomorrow’s episode of “Lethal Weapon,” opened up about what it was like to work with Damon Wayans and Clayne Crawford on the set of the FOX buddy cop series.
“I can’t tell you how much I love Damon Wayans,” Burton told TVLine of the actor who plays Roger Murtaugh on the show. “He was incredibly kind to me and I may have geeked out over my ’90s memories of ‘Major Payne’ and ‘In Living Color.’ He’s an icon!”

Hilarie Burton is an actor, producer, and mother. She is a former host of MTV’s Total Request Live. She is best known for her portrayal of Peyton Sawyer on One Tree Hill.
Here, Burton remembers her friend and fallen hero:
For years, people have asked me about the tattoo on my wrist: a small, typewritten letter S. I put it in a visible place on purpose. Still, it burns a bit to answer the question.
Sgt. Scott Kirkpatrick was killed in Iraq on August 11, 2007. He became a name on a list of losses. Another stark, white headstone in the Arlington National Cemetery.
And yet to us, Sgt. Scott Kirkpatrick was an inspiration. To me, among the freaks and friends who had the honor of growing up with him, he was an artist. An actor.
